(KMOV.com) -- A Massachusetts company is making millions of dollars off of Missouri taxpayers in the name of disability.

News 4 requested a copy of a contract between the state of Missouri and Boston-based Public Consulting Group.

They tout themselves as the Leaders in Social Security advocacy services.

Missouri had a contract with PCG to pay the company $2,300 each time they shifted someone off of state Medicaid and Welfare programs and on to Federal Disability payments.

Since 2006, Missouri has paid PCG more than $4 million for services listed as “Revenue Maximization and Cost Avoidance Services”, - which means the state paid a private company to get residents off Missouri rolls and on to the Federal rolls.

One week after News 4 requested the state’s contract with PCG - the Missouri Department of Social Services reduced part of their contract with PCG. They no longer move Missourians onto disability.

PCG declined to comment.
