(KMOV.com) – Administrators report a boost in the number of Americans signing up for coverage under the Affordable Care Act.
Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius testified before Congress about the troubled healthcare.gov website.
Her department says about 260,000 Americans signed up for insurance in November, more than double the number in October.
That brings the two-month total to nearly 365,000.
The administration views the increase as a major improvement, but far from the original goal of 1.2 million.
“I certainly wish we could have save millions of people a frustrating experience with a smoother technology launch,” Sebelius said. “I acted on the best information I had”
Americans who want coverage on January 1 have until December 23rd to choose a healthcare plan from the marketplace.
