COOKEVILLE, Tn (KMOV.com) -- A Tennessee hospital is taking an unusual step to prevent the spread of the flu virus. It has banned children from the building.

Hospital visitors are greeted by a sign explaining the hospital has banned visitors under the age of 16 because of the increase in flu cases. Administrators explain that children have much higher incidents of attack from the virus.

Doctors welcome the decision because patients who are already sick are so vulnerable to getting the virus and suffering from complications from it.
