(KMOV) -- Sex education at school sounds normal to many school district, but one school district in Illinois says it will start the process in Kindergarten.

The Chicago Public School Board recently approved the policy.

The program includes discussions on sexual orientation and gender identity. Kindergarten and first graders will learn anatomy, relationships and personal safety.

Currently sex education begins in the fifth grade.
