ST. LOUIS (KMOV) – Many Walgreens customers will have to find a new pharmacy starting January 1, 2012 because Walgreens is ending its relationship with St. Louis-based Express Scripts.
Express Scripts spokesperson Brian Henry says customers should have their new pharmacy call Walgreens, or they should take their current prescription bottle and prescription ID card to their new pharmacy.
Express Scripts says customers could save if they switch to CVS or pharmacies at Dierbergs and Schnucks supermarkets – or even big box stores like Walmart and Target.
Currently 200,000 customers in the St. Louis region rely on Express Scripts. The deal-breaker with Walgreens resulted from an ongoing dispute over payments.
