(KMOV.com) -- The Madison County Health Department reported the Metro-East’s second positive West Nile virus mosquito batch on Thursday.
Madison County Health Officials said the positive mosquito batch for the virus was collected in Mitchell, Ill., located near Granite City on Tuesday. The positive batch was the first collected in Madison County this season.
Health officials reported other positive batches were found in Cook, DuPage, McHenry, Perry and St. Clair counties.
No human cases have been reported in Ill. this season, said officials.
