SEATTLE, Wa. (KMOV.com) --  New research indicates that babies are listening and learning during the last 10 weeks of pregnancy.

According to researchers from the University of Washington, fetuses can hear different vowel sounds and can identify the difference between their native language and foreign ones immediately after birth.

The study concludes that babies learn earlier than first thought.
