(KMOV.com) – One of the most negative Congressional races that the Metro East has seen in some time is now in the hands of the voters.
The battle between Republican Jason Plummer and Democrat Bill Enyart ended up being a battle waged in a flurry of pointed television ads and rebuttals.
Enyart slammed Plummer as an opportunist that inherited rather than worked for his fortune.
Plummer shot back accusing Enyart and his wife of taking advantage of government pensions.
The two men along with Green Party candidate Paula Bradshaw are fighting for the seat of Democrat Representative Jerry Costello. Costello is retiring after representing southern Illinois’ 12th District for more than 20 years.
