TROY, Ill. (KMOV.com) -- A woman was killed, and two people were injured in an early morning accident near Troy, Illinois on Saturday.
Police say a car driven by Travis King, 24, rear-ended a truck driven by Vera Davis, 27, on eastbound Interstate 270 just west of Interstate 55 around 8:10 a.m.
The collision flipped the truck, and sent King's car down an embankment.
Davis was ejected from her vehicle, and suffered moderate injuries. She was transported by ARCH helicopter to a hospital in St. Louis, where she was treated and later released. King suffered minor injuries in the crash.
Davis' mother, 62-year-old Geraldine Davis, was a passenger in the truck. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
King was cited for improper lane usage, according to police.
The accident remains under investigation.
