Police: Bank robbery suspect may have been man dressed as woman

ST. LOUIS (KMOV) – Police are searching for an armed woman, or man dressed as a woman, accused of robbing a bank in St. John on Friday afternoon.

Authorities said the woman, or man dressed as a woman, was holding a semi-automatic weapon while robbing St. John’s Bank and Trust in the 9200 block of Natural Bridge around 3 p.m.

According to police, the suspect ran out of the building and into nearby woods. Several police officers responded to the scene, and began searching the area.

The suspect is described as a 5'10" to 5'11" black female (or male) wearing pink gloves and a turtleneck pulled over his or her head. Authorities say the suspect was also wearing a black jacket over the sweater, dark-colored jogging pants and white shoes.

Police say the suspect was last seen at an apartment building in the 9300 block Koenig Circle in Berkley, Mo.
