Winter weather returns to St. Louis, brings heavy winds

(KMOV) – After a break from the winter weather earlier in the week, cold temperatures and heavy winds have returned to the St. Louis area. 

Temperatures Wednesday morning were in the mid-30s with a high for the day only reaching 39 degrees.

News 4 Meteorologist Kent Ehrhardt says that a wintry mix of snow and rain will be in the area throughout the morning along with strong winds and wind chills in the 20s.

Ehrhardt says that the majority of perception will end by 10 a.m.  

This afternoon, skies will be partly cloudy with a Northwest wind at 20-25 mph. Gusts of wind are expected to reach up to 40 mph.

Overnight, temperatures will be at 25 degrees with mostly clear skies and a light South wind.

The cold temperatures won’t stick around for long though, the high Thursday is 59 degrees.
