(KMOV.com) -- A Winter Weather Advisory has ended for the St. Louis area, as morning snowfall has transitioned to rain and thunderstorms on Sunday evening.
A mixture of snow, rain and sleet will continue tonight for areas near and north of the I-70 corridor, according to 4Warn Meteorologist Kristen Cornett. Light snow accumulations are possible, mainly on grassy areas.
Along and south of I-70, rain and thunderstorms are expected to continue with the potential for small hail and heavy rainfall. Heavy rainfall may cause flooding of low-lying areas.
According to an advisory issued Saturday evening, between 1 and 3 inches of snow was expected to fall overnight. Most areas saw some wintry precipitation, but little accumulating snow.
