GRANITE CITY, Ill. (KMOV.com) – Police said a woman suffered a life-threatening injury during a shooting in Granite City Wednesday afternoon.
According to reports, the shooting happened in the 2600 block of David Morgan around 5 p.m.
When police arrived on the scene, they found a 27-year-old female victim who had suffered one gunshot wound. They did not say what part of her body was wounded, but called the injury serious.
The victim was airlifted to a St. Louis hospital for treatment. Officials did not release her condition.
Police took a male suspect into custody at the scene. Charges are expected to be filed on Thursday.
