(KMOV.com) – Traffic was at a standstill on eastbound Interstate 70 near Lucas and Hunt Monday as road crews worked to clear snow and ice in that stretch of highway.
The slippery conditions caused problems for tractor trailers, who have struggled with the incline at Lucas and Hunt.
As a result, MoDOT dispatched plows to clear the ice and allow for better traction for the semis.
Traffic was stalled for over an hour as crews worked to make the road passable. The roadway reopened just before noon.
