STL Wireless store
(KMOV) -- A local wireless store is accused of cheating its own customers by allegedly selling them stolen iPhones and tablets and Maryland Heights Police said they caught the employees in the act.
Maryland Heights Police said they set up a sting and a store employee at STL Wireless, on Bennington Place, was caught selling electronics to an informant.
“What they do is purchase these items and then they would be resold,” said Maryland Heights Captain Michael Klos, “Apparently this has been going on for some time and was knowledge to more than once person.”
Pedram Samadian, who told News 4 he was the manager of STL Wireless, was charged with receiving stolen property.
Authorities said they shut down the store temporarily in December 2013, but it is now back open. Police warn if you plan to buy a smart phone or tablet to make sure it is in its original packaging to ensure the property is not stolen.
