(KMOV) – The man suspected of robbing an 82-year-old woman at a White Castle in High Ridge last week has been arrested.

“My heart was beating, the hair on my arms stood, I couldn't believe it. I just couldn't believe it,” said 82-year-old Estelle Wagoner. “Half of the time nothing good happens to me."

On Thursday, Wagoner said she went to a White Castle to eat lunch Saturday and went to refill her soda before she set her wallet down. Surveillance footage captured the theft, showing Wagoner leaving the restaurant without her wallet before the suspect got up and grabbed it.

Wagoner said she received a call from the Jefferson County Sheriff saying her wallet and everything inside it was found and the man responsible for the theft had been arrested.

Wagoner says she is glad to get her wallet back because many of the things inside it were irreplaceable.

“(I had) kids’ pictures, my baby boys, and my son’s burial plot,” Wagoner said when asked what valuables she had recovered.

Police have not released the name of the suspect. Authorities say charges should be filed soon.
