(KMOV.com) – A St. Louis area lawmaker wants to change Missouri law regarding home daycare centers.

Under current state law, a home day care center is only allowed to watch four children at the same time, but there are exceptions to that rule.

Jill Schupp (D-Creve Coeur), wants get rid of the exemptions. Schupp told our partners at the St. Louis Post Dispatch that when more small children are supervised by one person, tragedies can occur.

However, some are concerned the bill could intrude on families.
