(KMOV) – Police say a 13-year-old student is responsible for writing a bomb threat that led to St. Clair Junior High being evacuatedThursday morning.

According to police, a note stating "there was an explosive in the building" was found around 11:15 a.m.

All students were evacuated from the building and sent to St. Clair High School’s gym. Students were allowed to return to the junior high once a complete search was conducted and police determined the school was safe.

Police said during an investigation they determed a 13-year-old 7th-grade student had written the message.

Results of the investigation were forwarded to Franklin County authorities.
