St. Clair Co. residents vote down sales tax increase despite jail overcrowding

 (KMOV) – Voters in St. Clair County voted against a plan the sheriff said would keep criminals in jail.

On Tuesday night. in a 69 percent to 31 percent count, they voted down a sales tax increase that would have helped fund jail expansion and renovation.
