ST. LOUIS (KMOV) – A south St. Louis Subway was robbed for the second time in less than five days on Friday.
Police say the suspect walked up to the Subway restaurant in the 4800 block of Chippewa around 2:30 a.m. and shattered the front glass door.
The suspect grabbed the cash register before quickly fleeing the scene.
The exact amount of money stolen is not known at this time.
This same restaurant was robbed on January 7 when Merrell Burch, 26, showed up during business hours and announced an armed robbery.
Burch fled the scene without any stolen goods or cash. He was later located in the vehicle matching witness descriptions and detained by officers.
Burch was charged with first-degree robbery in the incident.
Authorities are using surveillance videos to track down the latest suspect.
