(KMOV) -- News 4 reporter Russell Kinsaul emceed the Black and White Dream Gala fundraising dinner for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Saturday night.
The event honored individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the effort to find a cure for diabetes. This is the largest fundraiser of the year for JDRF, and raised more than $970,000 this year.
The most popular item auctioned off at the fundraiser was the right to name a future Budweiser Clydesdale which went for $30,000.
The event was held at the Hyatt Hotel in downtown St. Louis.
More than 3 million people in America have type 1 diabetes and each year more than 30,000 adults and children are diagnosed with T1D. There is no cure.
