(KMOV) – News 4 talked to police following reports of a man who is accused of peering into the windows of several Lincoln County homes.

Some families in the Elm Tree Subdivision say they are on lockdown and are keeping their kids inside because of concerns about the strange man.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department told News 4, it has received two reports connected to this case. According to Lt. Andy Binder, a resident called the sheriff’s department Wednesday morning, reporting that their daughter saw a strange man looking into her bedroom window the night before.

Neighbors say word spread on social media about the incident. One resident told News 4, she is worried about her grandchildren and will be picking them up from the bus stop.

Lt. Binder said so far the claims cannot be substantiated. Investigators do not have a suspect description or any evidence about the report.

Sheriff’s deputies plan to saturate the neighborhood Wednesday evening.

Binder said families should not be concerned about their children's safety.
