(KMOV) -- Washington University police are investigating a case of possible food tampering that may have been going on for weeks.
On Monday, two graduate students notified police they believe someone had been putting liquid soap in their food and drinks for up to three weeks. The students claim this has been going on at Green Hall, an engineering building on the Danforth Campus.
Police investigated and discovered an ongoing dispute between two groups of graduate students at Green Hall that may be behind the incident.
According to the Illinois Poison Center, hand and body soap are minimally toxic if ingested, but may cause mild irritation to the stomach or intestines.
The students were not reported to have fallen ill from consuming the soap. The investigation is ongoing.
