(KMOV.com) – The death of a man whose body was found inside an SUV near a church in Ferguson on Saturday has been ruled not suspicious.

Authorities said they were called to the Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church at the intersection of Dade and Carson after someone noticed there was a strong odor coming from a red SUV parked at the church.

Police said they found an extremely decomposed body in the backseat of the car.  Authorities later identified the body as being Nicanor Gonzolo Ahatzi-Cervantes, 48, of Berkeley.

Upon further investigation Ahatzi-Cervantes was believed to have been inside the car for several days.

The St. Louis County Medical Examiner's Office conducted an autopsy and determined the cause of death was not attributed to foul play.

Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call the Ferguson Detective Bureau at 314-522-3100.
