Police: Suspect breaks into, steals from south St. Louis elementary school

(KMOV) – Authorities arrested a man they say broke into and stole from a St. Louis Public School in the Forest Park Southeast Neighborhood early Wednesday morning.

According to police, officers responded to a burglar alarm at Adams Elementary School in the 1300 block of Tower Grove around 5 a.m.

Upon their arrival, officers spotted a man running away from the scene drop a bag.

The suspect ran into a nearby neighborhood and officers formed a perimeter around the area. They eventually caught him in an alley in the 4400 block of Arco.

Police say a laptop was found in the bag the suspect dropped. It was not immediately known if any damage was done to the school.
