(KMOV.com) -- A homicide investigation is underway after a man was shot and killed by an off-duty Pagedale officer, police said on Sunday.
The shooting happened in the 2100 block of Farrar St. around 6:20 p.m.
St. Louis police said a 35-year-old Pagedale reserve officer was dropping off the child he has in common with a woman when an argument broke out between the officer and the woman's fiancé, Will Dupree.
Dupree, 32, and the off-duty officer began to fight, according to police, at which time the officer shot three rounds and fatally wounded Dupree. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The susepct was taken into custody.
Police Chief Sam Dotson tweeted about the shooting, confirming an investigation was underway.
