(KMOV.com) -- St. Louis police say they have no plans to increase patrols at Laclede's Landing, despite two violent incidents in the popular entertainment district this past weekend.

Early Saturday morning, a man was shot and critically injured after a verbal altercation outside a bar on Laclede's Landing. Around the same time Sunday morning, a different argument ended when a man was stabbed in the neck and killed.

Authorities said officers responded to the shooting in just one minute, and to the stabbing in four minutes.

Lt. Col. Lawrence O'Toole said the two attacks had similar factors, but were isolated cases.

"It's interesting that both incidents happened at closing time," O'Toole said. "So there are a lot of factors that are similar for both evenings, and those are the things we'll be looking at."

While some Laclede's Landing business owners said they are not concerned, others said the attacks may keep some customers away.

Anyone with information on the stabbing is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 1-866-371-8477.
