16-year-old shot in chest, critically injured in north St. Louis

(KMOV.com) -- Police are investigating after a teenager was shot in the chest in north St. Louis on Sunday afternoon.

Officers were called to the 1000 block of Wall St. around 3:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, a 16-year-old victim was found shot and seriously wounded. He was transported to the hospital, where he is listed in critical/unstable condition.

Residents said they were told to stay inside their homes while police assessed the situation.

Homicide detectives were called to assist in the investigation. Authorities have released no further information on the shooting.
