KIRKWOOD, Mo. (KMOV) – A Kirkwood man is accused of hitting his granddaughter in the head with a bat and punching another granddaughter in the face because his house was dirty when he arrived home.
Cecil Jones, 61, was charged Monday with second-degree assault and third-degree assault.
According to police, Jones got upset after he arrived home in the 300 block of Alsobrook and found a messy house.
Kirkwood police said he walked up to his granddaughter and punched her in the face, giving her a bloody and swollen lip.
Authorities said he assaulted another granddaughter with his hands in her bedroom. He then grabbed a bat and hit her in the head, which swelled up.
Jones was arrested and taken into custody. His bail was set at $25,000.
