(KMOV.com) – The cold weather has pipes bursting all over the area. News 4 has been talking to repair men, both in heating and plumbing, over the past few days.

According to those in the industry, shops are busy around the clock trying to decipher which calls get priority.

The Spengler Company in O’Fallon, Illinois said Wednesday their call volume is up five times from the normal amount.

“We’re prioritizing more the ones that cannot get the water shut off,” said Jason Spengler. “It’s spraying right now and we try to evaluate every call by call.”

Employees hope to have all the calls completed by the end of the week.
