(KMOV) -- Well folks, it looks like we could get more wintry weather in the St. Louis area this weekend, continuing a trend that won’t seem to go away.
A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for portions of the News 4 viewing area until 6 p.m. Saturday.
Friday morning started off with temperatures around the freezing mark, with snow showers in the far northern sections of the News 4 viewing area.
In the evening, the area may see some light sleet develop.
“The area will see freezing drizzle or freezing rain overnight,” said Chief Meteorologist Steve Templeton, “Then between 3 and 6 a.m. we warm above freezing temperatures.”
Steve says icy conditions will begin to melt Saturday, but a cold rain settles over the area.
“Watch for rain to end early Saturday afternoon to evening,” says Steve, “with some light wintry mix. Saturday evening could see possible refreezing conditions.”
The biggest chance for snow and sleet mix will be to the north of the St. Louis area, while the south should mostly see rain.
