(KMOV) --  Dozens of people reached out to News 4 to report on a growing speed problem with area buses.

Jasmine Cooper lives on the south side of St. Louis and said; she too, had a run in with a speeding bus.

“It was my turn to make a left and the school bus was flying trying to get on Virginia and almost hit me and I was mad and upset,” she said.

After News 4’s Brittany Noble ran a story on Wednesday, Ken Wireman emailed her saying lived near Virginia and Eichleburger which is a major road for school buses.

"We have school buses and other vehicles speeding down this street,” Wireman said.

There are no road signs in the 500 block of Eichleburger. In fact, the next stop sign is three blocks away.

Wireman said that makes it easier for bus drivers to speed. “I realize they want t go home like anyone else but again they need to be professional.”

A north St. Louis resident, Triana Wayne said “they always be cutting people off going all fast speeding they need to stop.”

Everyone said its First Student buses that give them the biggest headache. News 4 reached out to the company who did not return the calls for comment.

An official with the St. Louis Police Department said they have no way to find the specific number of bus drivers ticketed because of how the violation is coded.

However they say it’s important to call 911 if a speeding bus is spotted.
