(KMOV.com) -- The Metro Bus Union is telling riders not to worry about a strike.

Union Local 788 took to the Forest Park Metro Link Station Friday afternoon to let riders know the union appreciates their ridership and has no immediate plan to strike.

The Union said they blame Metro for talks of a strike over the Fourth of July weekend. The Union said they couldn’t strike until they received a decision from the mediator and then wait another ten days.

Union leaders are concerned about proposals to change the pension, and they say union members have not had a raise since 2008.
