(KMOV.com) -- The excessive snow packed an extra benefit for farmers across Missouri and Illinois.

The National Drought Mitigation Center says that the snow is helping the states to recover from the drought of last summer.

The entire state of Illinois is now no longer considered to be in drought conditions.

Parts of Missouri still remain in moderate drought.  A climatoligst at the center says although the rain helps, both states are still at risk of sliding back into drought conditions.
