(KMOV.com) – A homeowner was able to extinguish some of a fire before firefighters arrived at his home in Jefferson County early Thursday morning.
According to Greg Shuster, assistant fire chief of the Cedar Hill Fire Department, three people were inside the home in the 6500 block of Cedar Hill Road when it caught fire around 1 a.m.
All three people inside of the home made it out safely.
Authorities say the home has exterior damage but is still live-able.
Firefighters on the scene told News 4 it is best to let emergency responders handle the fire-fighting duties.
The cause of the fire was unknown.
