(KMOV.com) – A man who is accused of crashing his car into a Godfrey home and killing a man faced additional charges Tuesday.
24-year-old Jacob Fickle is charged with driving a car into a house in the 100 block of Saturn Drive close to 10:45 pm on the night of January 13. Authorities say 73-year-old Marlin Bushnell, who was inside the home at the time of the crash, was killed as a result.
On March 7, the Illinois State Police Forensic Services Division completed its toxicology test for Fickle. The results revealed the presence of THC (cannabis), cocaine, alprazolam, and a blood alcohol level in excess of .08.
As a result Fickle was charged four additional felony counts of aggravated driving while under the influence resulting in death.
He was already charged wih leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in a death.
Police say Fickle was involved in domestic disturbance at his residence and took the keys to a car that belonged to a family member. Fickle then proceeded to drive that car into the house on Saturn Drive.
Police say Fickle fled after the alleged incident and was caught in the parking lot of the Beer Barrel Pub in the 7200 block of Montclaire Avenue in Godfrey.
Fickle was also charged with two misdemeanor counts of domestic battery for the alleged incident that took place at his home. Bond has was initially set at $150,000.
