Leadwood Police chief seriously injured in motorcycle accident

 (KMOV) – The Leadwood Police Chief was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident near his home Wednesday evening. 

According to reports, Chief Dale Newman, 45, was ejected from his motorcycle when a Ford Ranger rear-ended him as he was turning into his driveway around 5:10 p.m. on eastbound Highway 32.
 
The second vehicle, driven by Marvin Milburn, 50, failed to see Newman was making a left turn into the driveway before slamming into him.   
 
He was ejected onto the westbound lane of MO-32 one mile west of Gisi Road. 
 
Newman was airlifted to a St. Louis hospital where he is listed in serious condition. Milburn was not injured. 
 
Leadwood is near Potosi and Farmington.
