ST. PETERS, Mo (KMOV.com) – The jewelry thief responsible for Smith Jewelry and Coins is now in custody.
Kenneth Crocker, 38, of St. Peters was arrested Thursday for a June 25 robbery. Crocker allegedly displayed a handgun and demanded more than 100 gold coins and diamond rings from the store owner.
Crocker later fled the scene at 4213 Old Highway 64 in.
St. Peters police later received an anonymous tip about Crocker’s identity and that he hid girlfriend was allegedly pawning the jewelry for him.
Crocker and his girlfriend, Crystal Siefke , 29, were arrested without incident.
Siefke admitted to pawning some of the stolen jewelry at various pawn shops. A search warrant executed at Crocker and Siefke’s residence recovered around 70 rings.
St. Peters police are working with various pawn shops to recover the remaining stolen jewelry.
Both Crocker and Siefke have been in trouble for theft in the past.
In 2009, Crocker was arrested by St. Peters police for two counts of Burglary, two counts of stealing over $500 and one count of property damage. He was sentence to five years of supervised probation for those crimes.
On June 24th, 2012, Siefke was arrested by St. Peters police at Wal-Mart for felony stealing. Warrant application on that case is pending through St. Charles Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
Currently, Crocker has been charged with first degree robbery and is being held on $50,000 bond. Siefke has been charged with receiving stolen property and is being held on a $10,000 bond.
