WHEATON, Mo (KMOV.com) -- Authorities have made a shocking revelation in the case of a fire that killed five people in an apartment building in Wheaton, Missouri on Thanksgiving.
According to a story in the Springfield News-Leader, the company that owned the complex had the manual fire alarms disabled 10 years ago.
The property management company says that the tenants were told about the alarms and that all of the units had working smoke alarms.
The property company says they disabled the alarms because of others pulling the alarms in the middle of the night.
