EUREKA, Ill. -- A man in central Illinois has been charged with hurling a Molotov cocktail in front of a police squad car.

No one was injured in the incident Sunday.

The (Bloomington) Pantagraph reported Wednesday that 19-year-old Cody Stine, of Eureka, has been charged with unlawful use of weapons and is being held on $50,000 bond.

A police report on the incident says a man ran up to the roadway carrying an object topped by a foot of flames and threw it in front of the patrol car. It spread a line of burning liquid across both lanes of the highway.

The officer had to drive on the curb around the flames.

Police say the officer arrested Stine at his home, where other incendiary devices were found.
