(KMOV.com) – A portion of a popular downtown interstate has reopened following weekend construction.
When drivers turn onto Interstate 70 between Pine St. and the Poplar St. Bridge, they will notice the Walnut Street Bridge is gone.
Several ramps on I-70 have also been changed after construction.
The Missouri Department of Transportation advises drivers pay close attention to all signs posted on the road.
The demolishing was part of a plan to build a park over I-70 to connect downtown St. Louis with the area around the Gateway Arch, which sits on the other side of the interstate.
