(KMOV) – Get ready St. Louis area: It looks like it could be a wet one today, according to News 4 Meteorologist Kent Ehrhardt.

Temperatures Thursday morning started off in the 50s with scattered showers and a few storms spreading mainly south of the St. Louis area into the Metro East.

That system will move out of the area by late morning, but another is expected to make its way into the area Thursday afternoon, bringing heavy rainfall and possible storms.

The heavier stuff will cease Thursday evening, though a spot shower or two will form as temps drop into the 40s.

Looking ahead, temps will be in the 40s most of Friday, falling into the 30s in the early evening.
