ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- A cool front moving through the St. Louis area has some St. Louis area residents pulling out the sweaters and donning rain coats.
From temperatures in the 80s on Thursday to mid and low 50s on Friday, October’s harvest weather seems to be settling in.
4Warn Meteorologist Kent Ehrhardt said temperatures Friday will not make it out of the 50s. Rain is expected to fall throughout the viewing area with the chance for scattered thunderstorms. Later in the afternoon, the rain is expected to shift to the southern portions of the viewing area.
The cool trend is expected to continue into the weekend as well. Overnight temperatures in the coming days will be dipping into numbers we have not seen for a while – 30s. With those low temps, freezing and frost are possible. You’ll want to protect sensitive plants and vegetation.
The 4Warn Weather Team will continue to monitor conditions on Skytracker Doppler Radar and provide updates on News 4, KMOV.com and the KMOV Mobile apps.
