OAKVILLE, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- An elementary school principal fired over allegations of "lewd and indecent" conduct in Forest Park has been found not guilty in municipal court.

Dr. Jim Walters, principal of Point Elementary School, was suspended in March. He was accused of inappropriately grabbing his genitals in public, according to a summons.

Walters was later fired, following an investigation by the Mehlville School District. He said the incident was a misunderstanding.

The Mehlville school board hired Dr. Dan Gieseler to replace Walters for the 2012-2013 school year.
