(KMOV.com) – A Jersey County home was destroyed in a massive blaze Thursday morning..
According to the QEM Fire Chief, the fire started in an attached garage of the home in the 26400 block of Jersey Landing Rd. just after midnight.
Godfrey and Brighton fire departments were called in to help control the blaze.
Officials told News 4 the fire was challenging to fight due to cold temperatures, high winds and because the closest hydrant was about a mile away from the home.
Crews had to shuttle water from the hydrant to the scene.
Three vehicles were damaged in the fire and the home looked to be a total loss
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
