(KMOV.com) -- News 4 has uncovered exclusive video showing an incident that led to a teacher in the St. Louis Public School District being placed on administrative leave.

In a follow up to a story News 4 broke Friday night, the footage of the incident at Gateway High School, located at 5100 McRee Ave., has surfaced.

Stephanie White, 16, said her teacher became upset when she wanted to leave and watch a movie in another classroom. White said the two began to argue, yelling and swearing at each other.

She said the male teacher then slapped her hand down and pushed her.

While the video does not show what led up to the altercation, it clearly shows the teacher throwing his desk down and shoving the student.

After the incident, both the teacher and the student were taken into custody by police for questioning.

Officers say they’re considering charges against both parties.

Meanwhile, a spokeswoman for St. Louis Public Schools told News 4 the district is aware of the allegations against the employee, and that he was immediately placed on leave.
