(KMOV.com) -- Authorities said a child was struck and killed by a vehicle in St. Francois County just outside of Desloge Tuesday.
According to officials, 6-year-old Evan Ketto, of Park Hills, was killed when he was hit by a pick-up truck heading east on Highway 8.
Police say the driver, 42, did everything he could do to avoid the child in the roadway, and did not appear to be doing anything wrong.
Authorities are still trying to determine how the child got onto the highway.
