(KMOV.com) -- Police are investigating after a child was shot in north St. Louis late Friday night and a stolen car led police on a chase though St. Louis County.
A call came into police around 9:30 p.m. Friday night that shots were fired in the 3700 block of Manola in Pine Lawn. Reports indicate that an 8-year-old child was struck by a bullet and rushed to an area hospital.
Police say that while investigators were working the scene, a stolen vehicle sped through a perimeter they had set up around the shooting scene. The car led Pine Lawn and Northwoods police on a chase through the county and into the city.
Police say that they spotted the vehicle getting off I-70 at Adelaide with the county helicopter. Three people in the car took off on foot, running from police. One of the suspects was apprehended, the other two suspects are still on the run. Suspect descriptions were not made available.
Police tell News 4 that they are not sure if the suspects in the stolen car are involved in the shooting or if the child was the intended shooting victim.
The child is currently listed in stable condition.
