ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) - A 98-year old Catholic school in south St. Louis is fighting to keep its doors open.

St. John the Baptist Elementary School has been running a deficit the last several years and needs to raise $250,000 to stay open beyond the end of 2012-2013 school year. St. John the Baptist High School closed in 2008.

School officials are hoping alumni will help lead an effort to keep the school open.
