(KMOV) -- A Central Illinois man was arrested after being accused of bringing more than a pound of marijuana on an Amtrak train with plans to sell it.

Kriss Barton, 28, from Rochester, Ill. was arrested Thursday when the train he was traveling on to Arizona stopped in Galesburg, Ill.  Officers with a K-9 unit responded to the Galesburg’s Amtrak station after receiving a tip.

Authorities say a search of Barton's luggage turned up 589 grams of marijuana, along with more than 60 hydrocodone tablets and one small plastic bag of cocaine.

He remained in custody after Friday’s bond hearing. The judge appointed a public defender.
